This is an online auction platform. Scott Smith, a long-time active volunteer in our community has recently been told he needs a liver transplant. He needs our help, all the money collected will go to Scott and his family.

Scott Smith has recently been diagnosed with a life-threatening autoimmune disease called IgG4. This aggressive disease causes lesions on the body’s organs and can result in organ failure. In the most immediate term, his treatment will require a liver transplant. With mounting medical bills, our community is bonding together to raise funds to assist the family as they face an uncertain future and a long path to treatment.

Scott and his family have a long history of serving our community. He has spent his entire adult life coaching kids throughout southern Idaho, even before his oldest child was old enough to play. He has coached girls and boys basketball, little league football, boys baseball, and more. He started Burley’s youth travelling baseball program, now called the Burley Green Sox, where he coached for the first 10 years of its existence. He has also provided his time as a youth referee. He has literally coached and mentored hundreds of kids over the past 30 years.

Scott and his wife Heidi have 6 children and 6 grandchildren. They are the highlight of his life. His son has recently been called to serve a church mission for two years and will be leaving in June. Please help us support this kind and giving family so that they can go forward with their lives knowing that their husband and father will be receiving the best care possible.

Given his current health condition, Scott is currently unable to work and it is uncertain when he will be able to return to work, although his employers are graciously working with him. The family’s insurance will not cover the medical expenses associated with treating this disease.

Scott has devoted his life to bettering our local community for our kids. Now it’s our turn to help him and his family as they battle this disease.
